Ocho Rios is another place you can get some thrills. There is Zip lining across 0ver 700 feet of Forrest. Visit the Mystic Mountains, and you will be ‘hooked’ to this thrilling ride. You can bobsled through over 3000 feet of nature, enjoying Jamaica’s lush green landscape. And, of course, that is just one part of the island.

‘Foodie’ in You

If you are experiencing cuisine from different countries, Jamaica is a virtual melting pot of culinary delights for other cultures. And this is because of our diverse nationalities. We are a nation of Spanish, French, African, Indian, Jewish, Oriental, and Caucasians. With this amount of ethnicity, imagine the food delights you can enjoy!

From our African roots, there is Jerk. Jamaica is known for its Jerk meats, Chicken, pork, fish, and everything. The natural herbs and spices grown on the island, combined with the smokiness and spiciness of the meal, are enough to have you licking your fingers right through the dish.

The Indian roots gave us Curry, which we have incorporated into our menu of dishes. So we curry goat meat, chicken beef, and of course anything in between, Jamaica style. The spice is a blend of Indian herbs and spices with a Jamaican flavour of our natural herbs and spices. It can be an overwhelming flavour, should you fear spicy foods. But as a foody, this is an experience you should take advantage of.

More About Jamaica’s Foods

The Spanish and Jewish cultures gave us Escovitch. And this is a creative way to cook fish. It uses the best fish found in Jamaican waters- Snapper or whatever you prefer and fries to a crispy texture. The fish is then topped with a tangy, vinegary, peppery, divine sauce. This dish is traditionally served during the Easter celebrations. However, we cook at any time we have the desire for some Escovietch.

Our Oriental roots gave us Sweet and Sour, Noodles, and we added our Jamaican flavour to make it our own.

Looking at what we have to offer for you ‘foodies’, there is a lot to enjoy. Exotic foods are the aphrodisiac of any island paradise!

For all these dishes, you can enjoy any with a cold Red Stripe Beer, some Jamaican Appleton Rum or a chaser with the perfect fruity drink. And, for every fruit drink, the fruits are grown on the island.
