It all began in 1991 when Mr. Oral Trowers witnessed his parents hosting two Canadian students in their Portland home. That simple act of hospitality sparked a vision—one where locals could open their homes to travellers eager to experience the authentic beauty of Jamaica. Oral shelved the idea for years, but it never faded.

The Plan Started to Take Shape in 2022

Momentum built in 2022 when the Jamaica Tourist Board encouraged residents to host vacationers. This was the green light Mr. Trowers needed. He and Angella took it as a sign to finally bring their vision to life—over 30 years in the making. The next step? Launching a website. And so, Yaad Vacations was born.
